Mother:Betty/Elizabeth born about 1796, Westbury, Buckinghamshire.

Birth: c1832 Bermondsey according to 1871 census.
Baptism: 10 Mar 1834 St Mary Magdalene, Bermondsey; mother Betty. Emma's younger sister Martha was baptised in the same month which suggests that Emma was baptised when no longer a small baby.
Census 1841 Age 9 with parents John Giles, 50, leather duper? and Betty 45 at Russell Street, Bermondsey both born outside Surrey. Ann 20; Sarah 15; Jane 15; Emma 10; Martha 7. All born Surrey. (Ages of adults rounded down to five years.)
Census 1851 Age 20 with parents John Giles 60 head, born about 1791, Wldelone, Somerset, proprieter of houses, Betsy, wife, 55, born Westbury, Bucks, daughter Jane 27 born Bermondsey. at 1 Albert Street East 
Marriage: 02 Jul 1857 Alexander Robert CRYER (b. circa Feb 1831, d. 10 Feb 1918); Union Chapel, Parish Street, Southwark; Both age 26. Sister Martha Giles was a witness.
Daughter: 27 Jul 1860 Emma Eliza CRYER; 43 Albert Street, Bermondsey.
Son: 17 May 1864 Alexander George CRYER; 10 Church Street, Bermondsey
Son: between 01 Apr 1866 and 02 Apr 1867 William R CRYER; Bermondsey; This is the first and only appearance of this person and little confidence can be placed in his reality because the entry is such a mess.
Son: 20 May 1868 Edward Charles CRYER; 98 Russell Street, Bermondsey.
Daughter: 03 Jan 1871 Alice Louisa CRYER; 98 Russell Street, Bermondsey.
Census1871: 02 Apr 1871 68 Russell Street, Bermondsey; age 40, born Bermondsey.
Death: 28 Aug 1891 37 Tanner Street, Bermondsey; died age 59 of cancer of the liver - the informant was Edward Charles Cryer, son, of the same address.
Burial: 02 Sep 1891 Nunhead Cemetery, Southwark; Grave number 20567/130sq. Age 59
